I was so late this morning that's why i took for granted my urge to defacate. It was already 6:00 that's why I decided to take the sooper dee doopper big, sooper dee dooper airconditioned, Avenida bound Genesis bus instead the usual sooper dee dooper dilapidated, sooper dee dooper small, sooper dee dooper slow local mini bus that usually takes me 1 and a half hour to school.
I was the first one in the hospital. While waiting for them, i started to feel soooo qeasy so i planned how to distract them so i can use the toilet. I was really thinking of using a private CR of an empty room, but... (more)

YES!!
It is such a breath of fresh air to be back inside the hospital again (my duty is 7Am-3PM). My midterm examinations and community internships are all over. And now i am stationed in a private hospital. But i was absent on my first day because i thought that there was no class since the other night was the College of Nursing and Midwifery's acquaintance party. So I went to my Org instead and made some errands. I just asked the Org's head to make an excuse letter for me to get me an excuse slip. And i had my excuse slip, so just have to do a single make up duty instead of making 3 (an... (more)

Thursday...
I was so pissed off because LsA pushed me to remain in the health center, BTW, we were assigned to a new station, to 2 health centers in two different Barangays.
The 2 places were completely different with the RHU (regional Health Office) that we've been to for the last two weeks. The RHU is complete with X ray, Dental Clkinic, Laboratory, and many more, while the two centers were absolutely smaller and poorer.
Anyway, we had had no too many patients, only 3 or 4 elderly women who wanted to have their Blood Pressure taken, a pregnant girl, who I was very lucky to test my... (more)

We had our first home visits (we have to visit our clients in their respective houses. This is done to ensure that they are following the regiments that were advised to them) yesterday, though I was very unlucky because I have not had the privelege of doing my duty because one of my two patients already moved to a different town, while I was unable to go to the house of my other client because of the flood plus the high tide that regularly visits the place, though it isn't in anyway near the shore, the river only overflows with the coming of the tide.
I was paired with LA. I helped her find... (more)

So there is no classes, huh...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!

There is no classes and nobody bothered to text or phone me... ARGH! And I am 1and a half hour away from school. I woke up at 3:30 while I slept at 11 last night after I made an excruciating review for an exam in NCM 101-Pediatrics. I battled the rain and wind just to find that there is no classes? ARGH!
_______________

So what happened to me last week?

About the Incedental Report (i just learned that it isnt incident report... it should be incidentAL report)... I was very much fortunate that the faculty... (more)

THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING TO ME!!!
Incidentally, RLA and I were just talking about INCIDENT REPORTS last friday afternoon while we were in the bus terminal, which Ive heard before but I was really clueless about.
Incident Reports (IR) is a list of different Nursing Students who made violations while on duty. Things from serious matters like administering a wrong drug that caused death or worsen a patient's condition, divulging confidential information, having an affair with a patient, to simple ones like wearing your scrub suit outside the hospital (it might get some contaminations), being...
Stupidities in the Delivery Room

***I am sorry if I was not able to post what happened last Saturday, here it is...
When I went to the Hospital at 2 (my duty is 3-11PM) I was able to see RJA who was in duty at the DR at 7-3. He told me that I should not put my hopes high about handling a case (attending a delivery) because there were only two laboring women inside the labor room. I was really disappointed.
When I went inside the Nightingale hall (hall for student nurses from different colleges) I was surprised to see the majority of my groupmates cramming about our assignment about some labor and delivery medicines. I was... (more)

My duty in the delivery room should be on 3:00 but I was at school at 10:30 to ask some of my classmate if i can borrow their scrub suits... unfortunately, IFS cant lend me hers. I was so releived when I learned that they have already replenished their stock yesterday so i went to the College of Nursing and Midwifery faculty to get mine. But because of my, i think, my own recklessness, i forgot to bring my smack gown, which is worn over the suit whenever you're out of the DR, so I just asked ACS if I can borrow hers. She said yes and gave me a free lunch at their house.
I was at the... (more)

NO WAY!!
I am bound for the delivery room tomorrow and i still got no scrub suit (the uniform worn only inside the Operating or Delivery room).
I've tried asking the Head of College and midwifery about my predicament and they say they're sorry for they ran out of stocks.
Ive been all around the campus hunting nursing students to borrow a scrub suit, and AFS, bless her, allowed me to borrow hers. Unfortunately her size is too small for me... i am 5'11" and she's about 5'3".... Im in LARGE but her suit was small.
I'll just settle evreything tomorrow....
